HAPPY EASTER!!

So the Edwards gang got together Easter Sunday along with my mom, brother and his girlfriend and mine and Brian's house. We had a great lunch that we all ate too much and then we had an Easter Egg hunt for the kids. Our yard is kind of small (the joys of living in Durham) so Uncle Brian had to find creative places to hide some of the eggs. I think he even forgot where he hid a couple of them b/c Jan had to go and find one after we counted how many the girls had found. Oh Cole did fine 3 himself so he got to join in the fun. We enjoyed having family around for the Holiday. Hope to have many more to come here are some pics from the day.

Update

Okay so I know I have been slack in this whole blog thing. I am going to try to get better. Brian and I had a great Christmas and New Years. We got to visit with Family over Christmas and spent New Years with some friends of ours. The above picture is Brian trying to get our cat Jinx to keep her Christmas attire on. It didn't work out so well.

So nothing much has been going on. I went to Myrtle Beach this past weekend for my cousins bachlorette party. She is getting married on March 23rd. Here is the a picture of the group of girls who went most of which were my cousins. Top row in the picture is me and my cousin Ashley (my dad and her mom are twins can you tell?)The bottom row is my Cousin Heather (the one getting married, her best friend Rorie, my other cousin Beth and her best friend Wendy who is singing in the wedding. Sorry I couldn't figure out how to move the picture down underneath the paragraph.

My cousin Ashley's husband joined the Army last March and was deployed to Iraq last December. She informed me yesterday that he should be back home in the next few weeks. She has received emails about getting together with other loved ones and making posters and banners to decorate houses and buildings for the homecoming. They are going to decorate next Saturday March the 15th so please pray for his safe return to his family. They have been at Fort Bragg trying to make a home with out an important part of their family.

We have also had some friends and family add new family members to their families this year. Our good friend Brett and Melissa Hurdle (2nd baby)introduced their little girl Logan Brittany Hurdle in January. My cousin and his wife introduced their little girl Haylee Elizabeth Ellis (1st baby) in February.

Well I will try to do better and update this more often.....I can't promise anything. So until then......

Children

Libby told me over the weekend at the family reunion that I needed to update our blog. Nothing much goes on with us so She suggested that I talk about our "children". Their names are Casey and Jinx. They are almost 3 years old and still get into everything!! Brian and I just got a new leather ottoman. The next day we came home and yes its been scratched already by the cats. So if anyone knows how to cover marks please feel free to let me know. The Black one is Jinx and she is the laid back fat cat! She eats a bunch and isn't very active. The Gray one is Casey she LOVES Brian. He is the only one that can pick her up. She is VERY active and loves to play. You can tell because she is much smaller than her sister. Oh and Casey fetches!! Have you ever seen a cat do that? I guess they are training and getting us ready for kids one day. I guess we can't leave kids at home like we do the cats though! :) Well just thought I would drop a line so no one thinks that I have forgotten about the blog thing. Well we had a great time this past weekend and it was nice to see everyone and meet family that I hadn't met yet. So until next time!

Mandy and Brian Edwards 1st Blog

Hi Everyone! Jan told me that everyone was getting into this blog thing so I thought that I would try it out. Well I know most of you don't know me that well because Brian and I haven't had the chance to visit but a few times since we have been together. There isn't much to me just that I am from the small Roxboro, NC. I lived there all my life until July of 2006 when Brian and I moved to Durham. I thought it was going to be awful but to tell you the truth it hasn't been that bad. I work as an Accounting Manager at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for the Psychiatry Department. (many would say the perfect place for me) Brian and I met while we both worked at Roses while in High School I think in 1996. I graduated in 1997. After I graduated Brian was still in High School so we went on a couple of dates but it didn't turn into anything. So we stayed very close friends and talked all the time. Then out of the blue in October of 1999 we tried dating again and have been together ever since. Of course we recently were married Nov. 4, 2006 and this past July we closed on our current house and we love it! So now we are coming up on our 1st Wedding Anniversary. The time has flown by but I have enjoyed the flight!! Well I guess that is it for right now. For the first time I guess this wasn't too bad! I hope to add some more soon.
